Histoire, fondements et theorie de l'apprentissage scolaire (EDU F 245) is a post-secondary course through the University of Alberta - Campus St-Jean that will introduce students to the study of schools of thought and major theoretical trends that have influenced education. 


Program Details

  • February to May 2027(Semester 2)
    • Classes are every Wednesday from 6:00 to 9:00pm
  • Online & Synchronous
    • Students will meet with their instructor at scheduled times
  • Commitment to Learning
    • Online Instruction: 3 hours per week 
    • Independent Work: 3-5 hours per week for assignments and studying


Program Benefits

This is a jump start on your post-secondary education while you are still in high school:

  • Earn high school credits and post-secondary credits:
    • 5 Credits (CTS 30 level), plus
    • 3 Credits (Post-Secondary)
  • Experience what it is like to be in a post-secondary program and learn from experts in the field


This Dual Credit program is for students who are:

  • In Grade 11 or 12 during participation in program
  • Are keen to experience a post-secondary course through an online format
  • Have completed (or are on track to complete) the following required courses:
    • French Language Arts 20-7 or 20-2 and have a minimum grade of 80%
    • English Language Arts 70-7 or English Language Arts 70-2  and have a minimum grade of 60%


Additional Considerations

    • Online, synchronous courses are live with the post-secondary instructor. They run at set times and attendance is required.
    • Students must meet all course assessment deadlines in order to be successful (assignments, tests, exams).
    • Students must be registered as a full-time student, taking at least one course at their home high school during the program (work experience excluded).
    • Students will be expected to communicate with both their FSD supervising teacher and course instructor regularly.
