Any credits earned through our Summer School program are fully transferable and count toward a student’s high school diploma, regardless of their home school division.

How Summer School Works

Summer school is online | Class is daily Monday to Friday | Mornings | In-person drop-in sessions are offered at École Secondaire Foothills Composite High School in Okotoks | Between class time and independent coursework, students will work 5 hours a day |
Setting up students for success
- Course materials will be accessible and begin at 8am on the first day of school.
- Registrants will be sent a welcome email from the course teacher a week prior to school starting.
- Students will require:
Time commitment for learning each day; travel or employment during scheduled learning times will impact ability to participate
A computer capable of accessing the internet (laptop or desktop)
A reliable internet connection
A web camera and microphone (your computer may already have this built-in)
A quiet space to work

** denotes the 30 level courses that will have a Diploma Exam scheduled by Alberta Education and Childcare within the timeframe of August 4 to August 12, 2026. Diploma exams are hosted by FSD on the scheduled dates (diploma schedule).
