Superintendents' Office

The Superintendent of Schools provides advice and support to the Board of Trustees and ensures board policy is implemented effectively. They are supported in this work by Assistant Superintendents and the Division Office Team. The Superintendent of Schools, and Assistant Superintendents all must align with the Superintendent Leadership Quality Standards (SLQS), as determined by the Government of Alberta.

Together the Executive Team determine sound educational and business practices to achieve the Division’s Vision, Mission, Values, and Priorities.

  • Interpersonal Skills & Division Culture

    • Building Effective Relationships: Fosters a welcoming, respectful, and safe learning environment through strong relationships with the school and local community.
    • Visionary Leadership: Collaborates with the community to implement a shared vision for student success.
  • Progress Toward Division Goals

    • Leading Learning: Promotes a culture of reflection, shared responsibility, and continuous improvement in student learning.
    • FNMI Education: Ensures structures and resources support foundational knowledge of First Nations, Métis, and Inuit cultures for all students.
  • Professional Learning

    • Modeling Lifelong Learning: Engages in ongoing professional development and applies research-informed practices to improve leadership and teaching.
  • Accountability Responsibilities

    • Operations & Resources: Oversees school operations and allocates resources strategically to support student success and division priorities.
  • Board & Superintendent Relations

    • Supporting Governance: Provides the Board with the necessary information, advice, and support to fulfill its governance role. Also reports to the Minister as required by legislation.

  • Continuum of supports and services
  • Counselling and therapy services
  • Wellness and well-being, mental health supports and social emotional learning
  • French immersion , languages and English as an additional language
  • Alternative, specialized, outreach, digital, and home schooling programs
  • Student attendance
