Literacy Week at Spitzee School: A Week of Reading, Creativity, and Community Spirit

2026-Literacy-Spitzee

Literacy Week at Spitzee School was packed with excitement as teachers organized engaging activities to inspire a love of reading among the Spitzee Eagles. The week kicked off with mystery readers, featuring special guests such as members of the High River Flyers, Okotoks Oilers, and even local country singers, bringing stories to life in our classrooms.

Students participated in a school-wide Reading Chain, connecting readers across grades and fostering a strong sense of community. The fun continued with a Teacher Swap story time, where staff shared their favorite books with new groups of students.

Family Groupings gave everyone the chance to get creative, as students worked together to design and make bookmarks to share. These collaborative moments offered a fun and meaningful way to highlight the importance of literacy and celebrate the joy of reading.

Thank you to all our staff, students, families, and community partners for making Literacy Week a memorable success at Spitzee School!
