Heritage Heights celebrates new playground made possible by community

2025-HHtsPlayground

On Friday, September 12, Heritage Heights School joyfully reopened its playground — and it’s better than ever! Families, students, and staff gathered to celebrate the exciting new features, including saucer swings, a merry-go-round, an off-roader, a playhouse, and the impressive “DreamWeaver” climbing net.

This vibrant transformation was made possible through generous grants and heartfelt community fundraising, largely made possible by the dedicated Heritage Heights School Council, ran by volunteers.

The school also embraced sustainability and creativity by repurposing existing equipment, making the most of every resource.

To mark the occasion, the Foothills School Division K–9 school nestled in the De Winton/Heritage Pointe area, hosted a festive celebration with hot dogs, ice cream, and a petting zoo — a perfect way for families and students to enjoy the new space together.

Thank you to everyone who helped bring this playground to life. It’s more than a place to play — it’s a symbol of community, inclusion, and joy.
