Leanne Hellman appointed Vice-Principal at ÉSFCHS/AHSFA

Foothills School Division is pleased to announce the following School Leadership appointment for the 2023-2024 School Year

Please join us in welcoming Ms. Leanne Hellman to Foothills School Division. Ms. Hellman has been appointed Vice-Principal of ÉFCHS/AHSFA and will join the existing school leadership team and broader staff team, effective August 31, 2023.  

Ms. Hellman possesses deep teaching and school leadership experience across three Alberta School Jurisdictions and Internationally serving in both rural and large urban high school settings. Most recently, Leanne has served as Principal of County Central High School in Vulcan with Palliser School Division.  

Significant strengths and varied relevant experience relative to the leadership profile developed for Vice-Principals were evident in the recruitment process.  

Successfully advancing school improvement and change management initiatives, excellence in instructional leadership, and implementing systems and structures to support diverse pathways to high school completion were among the many strengths noted through the recruitment. Additionally, the capacity to lead with compassion, fairness, and consistency were noted as competencies shared with the interview committee.  

A dedicated career long-learner, Leanne holds her Master of Science in Human Resource Management from Edinburgh Business School, Heriot-Watt University; her Master of Arts, Leadership and Administration from Gonzaga University; and her Bachelor of Science, and Bachelor of Education from the University of Saskatchewan.     

As she joins Foothills School Division as Vice-Principal at ÉFCHS/AHSFA, Leanne shares: "I'm incredibly excited to be joining the team at ÉFCHS/AHSFA and the Foothills School Division.  Serving such a distinguished community is an honour, and I hope my experience and vision will help contribute to the incredible work being done here.  I am passionate about creating a safe, welcoming, caring, and respectful environment for our students, staff, families, and community members, and I’m looking forward to meeting all of you and to working with the team at FSD."
