We are going swimming! – Parent Information Sheet

Students are being offered three swim lessons called Swim to Survive.

Please see the information sheet attached about these lessons from the Okotoks Pool. The Okotoks Pool handles the booking for the swim lessons at our local pool – Dr. Lander Memorial Swimming Pool.

The cost will be:

Grade 1-6 will be $14.00

Kindergarten will be $5.50

Please pay online by June 4^th.

These are the dates and times for the lessons and the Fun swim:

Grade 1-6 will get 3 swim lessons; Kindergarten will get 1 swim lesson, and everyone will get a fun swim!

The three swim lessons are:

Tuesday, June 11^th, Wednesday, June 12^th and Thursday, June 13^th

Dow/Klafki 9:45-10:25am (3 lessons)

Gouin/Ellis 10:30-11:10am (3 lessons)

Saunders/Park 11:15-11:55am (3 lessons)

Hibberd/Berrigan 12:30-1:10pm (3 lessons)

Payne/Stewart 1:15-1:55pm (3 Lessons)

The Kindergarten lesson is:

Thursday, June 13^th - Kindergarten

Irving 2:00-2:40pm (1 Lesson)

Fun Swim – Thursday, June 20^th (There is a PD Day on Friday, June 21^st- No school.)

11:00-12:00 – Irving, Saunders, Park, Gouin, Klafki

1:00-2:00 – Dow, Ellis, Hibberd, Berrigan, Payne/Stewart

Please note that any children 7 and under must be within arm’s reach of an adult at all times in the water (for the fun swim). The pool will provide lifejackets and belts but encourage those who have them at home to bring them so there are enough to go around.

So please let your teacher know if you can volunteer to swim with the class.

It is super important that you follow the link below and register your child’s swim level, so they are placed in the appropriate group and level.

Quick checklist for registering my child for swim lessons:

1. __ go to link and enter my child’s swim level

2. __ fill out and sign permission form and medical form

3. __ send all forms back to homeroom teacher return by June 4^th

4. __ pay online for lessons ($14 for gr. 1-6 and $5.50 for Kindergarten)

If your can volunteer for your child’s fun swim (7yr. olds and below), please email your child’s homeroom teacher and let them know.

Fun swims are on Thursday, June 20:

11:00-12:00 – Irving, Saunders, Park, Gouin, Klafki

1:00-2:00 – Dow, Ellis, Hibberd, Berrigan, Payne/Stewart
