Labour Action Update: Tentative Agreement Reached

To our FSD Community, 

We are pleased to share that a tentative agreement has been reached between Foothills School Division (FSD) and school-based support staff in CUPE Local 5040. No details of this tentative settlement will be shared until after ratification.

This tentative agreement remains subject to ratification by the membership of CUPE Local 5040 and by the Foothills School Division Board of Trustees. 

If ratified by membership and the FSD Board of Trustees: FSD school-based support staff could return to work as early as Monday, March 24, 2025. 

We know that this has been a challenging time for our entire learning community. We thank you for your ongoing patience and understanding as we work to ensure safe, welcoming, respectful, and caring learning environments. Student and staff safety is, and always will be, our priority.  

We look forward to welcoming our support team back into our schools.
