Top Honours for AHSFA Vocal Ensemble and Concert Band

High River, AB: The Foothills School Division celebrates the staff and students of the Alberta High School of Fine Arts (AHSFA) (AHSFA) Vocal Ensemble that has placed first overall in class 264B (High School Chorus, Virtual), and are the top high school choir for the 2024-2025 school year. This outstanding achievement highlights the ensemble's dedication and talent. The school extends an invitation to the community to attend their final concert at Okotoks Alliance Church on June 2, starting at 7:00 PM. The concert will feature another breathtaking performance, "Fire," by Canadian composer Katerina Gimon.

Additionally, the AHSFA Concert Band recently participated in the ABA Provincial Festival of Bands, where they earned an Excellent + rating, equivalent to an A-. Under the direction of interim conductor, the students exhibited exceptional musicality and professionalism, earning superior grades (A) in sight reading, musicality, and professionalism. States Matthew Ellis, Vocal Music Instructor, “The student’s representation of ÉSFCHS | AHSFA and the division was nothing short of admirable.”
