Letter from the Minster of Education: Cell Phones in Classrooms

The Honourable Demetrios Nicolaides, Minister of Education, has shared a letter to parents that we pass along to you, our partners in education. 

The letter entails the province's plan to support student learning and well-being by restricting personal communication devices in the classroom. The new restrictions limiting the use of personal mobile devices and access to social media take effect September 1, 2024. Foothills School Division is currently working to establish procedures that meet the mandate set out by the Ministry of Education and will offer partners an opportunity for feedback on the revised procedures in the fall.
