Heather Crook appointed Vice Principal at Meadow Ridge School for Fall 2026
Foothills School Division is pleased to announce the appointment of Ms. Heather Crook as Vice Principal at Meadow Ridge School, effective August 21, 2026.
Ms. Crook began her career with Foothills School Division in 1999 at École Okotoks Junior High School, transitioned to Dr. Morris Gibson School as a teacher and Learning Coach in 2008, and joined Meadow Ridge School's (MRS) inaugural staff in 2019, teaching grades 6 to 9. She currently serves as a Learning Coach at MRS, working closely with teachers in Grades 5 to 9 to design responsive programming that meets the diverse learning needs of students while strengthening instructional practice across teams.
Heather is an experienced educator and learning leader with a strong commitment to fostering safe, caring, and inclusive school communities where students and staff feel supported to learn and grow. As a learning leader Heather supports with strong instructional design, assessment, positive behaviour supports, and the coordination of educational assistant supports. Heather is well regarded for her collaborative approach and her ability to build strong, trusting relationships with students, staff, and families.
Heather completed the Foothills School Division Learning and Leading development cohort, deepening her understanding of the Leadership Quality Standard and improving her practical leadership skills to support student learning and well-being. She leads with empathy, clarity, and open communication, effectively handling challenges while fostering trust, collaboration, and a focus on student success.
Ms. Crook is dedicated to career-long learning, holding a Master in Educational Leadership and Administration from Gonzaga University, a Bachelor of Education from the University of Calgary, and an Early Childhood Education Diploma from Mount Royal University.
As she moves into her first school leadership role Heather shares “I feel privileged to continue my journey as a Grizzly and to grow alongside the dedicated staff, students, and parents at Meadow Ridge School. I am both excited and honoured to contribute to the continued success of Meadow Ridge and to be part of its ongoing story.”
