Principal’s Weekly Update – May 12–16, 2025

Dear Cayley Families,

I hope this message finds you well as we head into another exciting week at Cayley School!

Here are a few important updates and highlights for the week ahead:

🌼 Spring is in Full Swing!

The warmer weather has brought a renewed energy to our school community. Students are enjoying outdoor learning opportunities and recess time, and we’re seeing lots of creativity and collaboration in classrooms. Please remember to send kids with appropriate clothing

🌸 Happy Mother’s Day!

With Mother’s Day coming up, we just want to send a big shout-out to all the amazing moms, grandmas, and mother figures/guardians in our school community. Whether you're packing lunches, helping with homework, or just being there with a hug at the end of the day—you make a huge difference.

Thank you for all the love, patience, and support you give, not just to your own kids but to our whole school family. We see you, we appreciate you, and we hope you get a chance to relax and feel celebrated this weekend—you’ve earned it!

💡 Tip of the Week: Supporting Executive Functioning Skills

Executive functioning refers to the mental skills that help us plan, focus attention, remember instructions, and juggle multiple tasks. These skills are essential for learning and everyday life.

Try this at home:
Help your child build routines by using visual schedules or checklists. For example, a simple morning checklist (brush teeth, pack lunch, check backpack) can help them feel more organized and independent.

We’ll continue to share tips like this to support learning both at school and at home!

💬 Our Appreciation

A heartfelt thank you to all the parents and guardians who joined us for our recent school assembly. Your presence and involvement mean so much to our students and staff. It’s always wonderful to see our school community come together to celebrate learning and growth. Congrats to the students who were recognized this month! Thanks to the families who brought in baked goods for our Spring Tea as well. What a special event!

Let’s continue to work together to make Cayley School a place where every student feels seen, supported, and inspired.

Warm regards,
Griffin
