Cayley Families,

Thank you to everyone that attended our Christmas Concert last Thursday night. It was a great turnout and a great event. A special thank you to the staff for their organization of the event, and for our student leaders that made the evening run smoothly. On behalf of Cayley School, I hope that everyone has a great holiday season!

Transition Plan

I want to share a bit more with you around our transition plan as Griffin Ellis takes over for me on January 6th, 2024.

  • First, while Griffin will introduce himself in due time, please allow me to tell you about him. Griffin is a proud alum of Cayley School; I grew up playing ball with Griffin’s older brothers and was coached by his dad Rick, who worked at Cayley School for a time. I am completely confident that he will put kids first and make decisions with the best interest of kids and families in mind. He is currently the Vice Principal at Senator Riley School in High River, and I know he is excited to return to Cayley!
  • Griffin will take over my teaching assignment of math and physical education 7-8. We have communicated around which units have been addressed, and which units are still to come, as well as where individual students are at in their programming- he will hit the ground running on day one and will be strong in the classroom!
  • Griffin has also agreed to take over the boys basketball team, which is much appreciated. He is a seasoned basketball coach and will do a great job with the boys.
  • I will handle most of the report card comments for term one as these come out in early February. Griffin will add some comments around student progress in January, but these will mostly be done by me to ensure the first four months of your child’s year in math are documented.
  • There wont be any additional timetable changes for students at this point

Thank You

I want to thank everyone before I depart for an enjoyable year and a half at Cayley School! I certainly enjoyed the support of our students, staff and families, and wish the best to all of you. I am highly confident that Griffin will do a great job at Cayley School- have a great holiday season with your families, and I hope our paths will cross again soon.
